With Williamsburg club, helped charter the Historic Triangle club and supported them through their first year. Also supported the formation of the City Center club in Newport News
With Williamsburg club, received Rotary International Membership Development Award for our efforts with the Historic Triangle club
Received Rotary International Presidential Citation
Became a 100% Paul Harris Fellows Club -- the first in District 7600 to achieve that status
Ranked among the top 10 clubs in the district for attendance in 6 out of 12 months
Achieved more than 180% of our Foundation goal for the year • Achieved "Every Rotarian Every Year" and "Sustaining Member Club" status
Continued to provide district-level leadership with a current Assistant Governor, as well as members serving on or chairing district committees
Hosted a Rotary Ambassadorial Scholar from Germany
Hosted a Group Study Exchange team from the Philippines
Hosted a group of Russian lawyers in the Open World program
Supported Williamsburg Youth Baseball by selling concessions at Cal Ripken Tournament
Supported well construction and hygiene education for a village in Kenya
Teamed with Newport News Water Works on a well construction project in Chinda, Honduras
Distributed dictionaries to all third-grade students in Williamsburg/James City County
Tutored inmates at Peninsula Regional Jail toward their GED
With Williamsburg/James City County schools, co-sponsored a middle school project contest related to the Four-Way Test
Gave scholarships to three college-bound high school seniors. Also supported scholarship for jail inmates taking a course with Thomas Nelson Community College.
Regularly cleaned up our assigned part of Hwy 199
Conducted winter coat drive and contributed more than 200 bags of food to FISH
Rang bells for the Salvation Army's red kettle campaign
Loaded shipping containers for MedLink
Wrapped Christmas presents at Barnes and Noble
Had our most successful Christmas poinsettia sale ever
Had our most successful fundraising auction ever
In total, raised nearly $38,000 (net) to be given to charitable organizations and projects in 2008-09
Provided donation for tornado relief in Suffolk
Provided microfinance loan to a small-business owner in Peru
Recognized a member of the local community with the annual Ideal of Service Award
Donated more than $30,000 to local and international charities this year in dollars and end items
Supported PolioPlus Partners with a contribution toward the Gates Foundation challenge grant to eradicate polio worldwide
Contributed to the Historic Triangle club's drive to make and distribute 1,000 baby hats • Marshaled the 2nd hole at the LPGA tournament at Kingsmill
Supported the visit of the RI president-elect, D.K. Lee
Produced a high quality full color monthly newsletter and a great web site
Had a super publicity program that kept the Club in the community eye
Had a wide range of interesting and informative programs at our meetings
Had excellent attendance at District Conference
Supported our new Rotaract Club at W&M
