The Breakfast Group meetings are the first three Tuesdays of each month at 7 AM at the Elements Restaurant in the Kingsmill Conference Center.. The Satellite Group meets the second Wednesday of each month at 6:30 PM in the Riverside Doctors Hospital conference room off the lobby. See detailed calendar below.

May 7th, Tuesday, 7 AM. Breakfast group meeting at Elements Restaurant in Kingsmill. Speaker will be Paul Scott, Executive Director of Child Development Resources, a nationally-recognized provider of services to infants and toddlers with developmental delays and disabilities and training.

May 8th, Wednesday, 6:30 PM. Satellite group meeting at Riverside Hospital Conference Room. Topic will be Rotary 101, everything you wanted to know about Rotary but were afraid to ask!

May 14th, Tuesday, 7 AM. Breakfast group meeting at Elements Restaurant in Kingsmill.

May 15, Wednesday, 6:30 pm. D7600 End Polio Now baseball game at Harbor Park in Norfolk. Gates open at 5:30 PM. More info at: https://fevo-enterprise.com/RotaryDay2024. Tickets are $17 each, $5 of each ticket goes to the Rotary End Polio Now campaign.

May 21st, Tuesday, 7 AM. Breakfast group meeting at Elements Restaurant in Kingsmill.

May 22, Wednesday, 5:30 pm. Satellite group social at New Town. Enjoy music at Sullivan Square with the sounds of Identity Crisis and Dog Street Boys. Bring lawn chair and family!

Our club service project for May is installation of 100 flags at Veteran’s Park for display over Memorial Day weekend. Project leads are Gary Chenault and Roger Saunders.

On May 7th, Club President-Elect Travis Rabb (left) receives a certificatae from Club Foundation Chair Jerry Fields recognizing Travis’ Paul Harris Society status resulting from his generous support of The Rotary Foundation.

On 7 May, the James City County Rotary Club Breakfast group was given an in-depth briefing about Child Development Resources (CDR) by Paul F. Scott, Executive Director. Established in 1966, CDR is a nationally-recognized provider of services to families with infants and toddlers with developmental delays and disabilities with training and technical assistance from the professionals who serve them. On 16 April, District 7600 Governor Rudy Garcia presented Paul Harris
pins to James City County Rotarians who have donated annually to
Rotary International Foundation to support their world-wide efforts to
eradicate polio.

On 16 April, James City County Rotary and Satellite Clubs hosted the annual District 7600 Golf Tournament at Kingsmill River Course to assist the District in their efforts to raise money for Rotary International's signature health initiative to eradicate polio. On 2 Apr, James City County Rotary Club members listened to Dr. John Delano describe the historical WWII actions that took place on Guadalcanal in the Pacific Theater during August 7, 1942 - February 9, 1943.

Rotarian Andy Andrews (on left) has 45 years of perfect attendance! He alternates between his home club, Hampton Rotary Club and our club. Congratulating Andy is our own long-time member, Charlie Glazener.

In October, our club heard from Liebherr Group former President and Board Chairman Ron Jacobson. Liebherr Group is one of the world’s largest manufacturers of construction equipment. Pictured with Ron is Past President Nancy Carter.

 

On June 20, the Rotary Club of James City Club breakfast group presented the Paul Harris Fellow Lapel Pin to club members Jack Clark (PH+5) and Nancy Carty (PH+2) to recognize their contributions to the Rotary Foundation.

Rotary Club of James City County heard from Geneva Hudgins, Executive Director, American Water Works Association-Virginia Section. VA AWWA is leading, educating, and assisting Virginia's water community in the advancement of public health, safety, quality of life, and environmental stewardship.
