Dictionary Distribution to Third Graders in 2021
Members of the Rotary Club of James City County breakfast and satellite clubs delivered 900+ dictionaries to the nine Williamsburg/James City County elementary schools, enough for every 3rd grader in the district and their teachers. For 17 consecutive years, JCC Rotary has donated over
14,600 dictionaries, continuing its focus on Basic Education and Literacy, one of seven focus areas.
Dictionaries for Williamsburg Third Graders
Each year our club presents dictionaries to all 3rd graders in Williamsburg-James City County School District. In 2020, our club donated 880 dictionaries on Dictionary Distribution Day, November 17th. This year brought our Club record of total number of dictionaries distributed to a milestone of nearly 12,000! Not only does this project help the students excel in their Standards of Learning, it also is a lot of fun (especially, to see how bright and courteous the students are and to read their adorable thank you notes).
