The Rotary Club of James City County provided a $10K grant to Grove Christian Outreach Center to fully fund their Turkey Basket program that will be held near Thanksgiving, feeding 200 Grove families. It also funds a desperately needed freezer, primarily to accommodate the increased demand of Grove families impacted financially by COVID19. Pictured are Neva Lynde; Roger Saunders; Katie Patrick, Executive Director of Grove; Ruth Cunningham, Food Ministry Coordinator.

Our club awarded a grant to Grove to fund their Summer 2020 lunch program. In partnership with The Historic Triangle club, we also volunteer on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday from 10:30 AM - 12:30 PM.  Volunteers are needed from Monday June 15th and throughout the summer. Volunteering may include picking up food from restaurants and delivering to Grove for distribution.  If you are interested, please sign up on the Volunteer Here! web page.

Our club is pleased to provide Grove with a grant to fund their Thanksgiving Day basket program this Fall. Additionally, our club partnered with the nearby Historic Triangle Club to win a grant that will provide lunches for Grove Christian Outreach through Summer 2020.

Mission Statement

The mission of the Grove Christian Outreach Center is to minister to the physical and spiritual needs of the poor and disadvantaged in the low income Grove community of James City County. Established in February 2000 by Thomas McCormick, long-standing mail carrier for the Grove community, when he acted on a calling from God to help people he met on his daily rounds. The Center has grown to meet the daily needs of the community. There are approximately 1,400 households in Grove with over 3,400 residents. Our goal is to treat each person we serve with dignity and respect and to show the love of Christ while meeting practical, everyday needs.
